"Wine Tasting Party"
Last night we held a "Wine Tasting Party" for family and friends on our newly expanded decks. The weather was perfect and the evening did not get too cool. Birds and crickets chirping all around, sounds of water running in the stream down below in the wooded ravine and good friends and wonderful family members attended. All had a great time the two hostesses were very tired at the end of the evening, but, we both agreed that it turned out great! Thanks to my daughter-in-law Janet who made all the appetizers (party meatballs, terryaki chicken strips, fruit tray, cheese platter complete with a wonderful Brie with fruit topping, sushi, etc. I made the dessers which consisted of both fruit topped mini cheesecakes and chocolate mini cheescakes topped with real whipped cream and mini chips and some wonderful key lime tartlets in phyllo tart shells. Also kolacki's from a local bakery that my dear friend Karen brough with her..
We had 13 bottles of wine from 7 different countries and a wonderful Apricot Ice Wine from Canada on the dessert table.
There were lables posted in front of each bottle of wine telling of the type and origin and date.
Above pics are setting up the food tables and the fully set one at the bottom.
This is "Laid Back Louie" my mechanical McCaw Parrot that sings his rendition of "Don't Worry Be Happy" all the while tapping his toes and working his beak. I purchased him at Mountaineer Casino Gift Shop a few years ago and he is always the hit of any party we have.
The two "Hostesses". My oldest daughter-in-law Janet (wearing a necklace I made her for her birthday in July) and myself. Could not have done the party without her. This is our second Wine Tasting Pary.
The deck all set up for company at the party.
The picture above is me and my dear friend Barb S. We have been friends since 5th grade. I think we look pretty good! The bottom picture is some of our company enjoying themselves.
Later on in the week, I will post the receipe for the Key Lime Tartlets. They were the hit of the dessert trays.
Hoping you have enjoyed our little Party! It was fun and very enjoyable and I encourage anyone who wants to have a Wine Tasting Party to just go with it!
